The lady behind the cat

Scatterbrain Studios started with a single design featuring a cat in a rather fancy hat. That’s all it took for creator Julia to fall in love. Soon she was brainstorming more characters and spending all her spare time creating patterns bursting with cuteness. Scatterbrain was born!

Julia started her creative career in 2007 with a degree in product design, but it wasn't quite the right fit. She spent a few years during and after uni running a market stall selling handmade greetings cards, which she loved, so she set out to become a greetings card designer, which led to working for Hallmark and then Moonpig.com for many years.

Nowadays Julia is known around the internet for her lettering studio Letters by Julia, but what people don’t know is that before that she was an illustrator. Combining both of these passions is what makes Scatterbrain Studios so magical and exciting!
